The Gen6 AIC x16-1 Breaker has 16 PCIe lanes. Only Lane 0 is switched; the rest are directly routed. The ability to kill the first data lane adds a significant benefit over breakers that do not control the PCIe lanes at all. To see how it compares against the full range, check out the blog here.

Designed for AIC/Slot devices with up to 16 data lanes. This device fits into an x16 slot and supports all 16 lanes to the device under test.

The module has full control over power and sideband pins, allowing simulation of many hot-swap and fault injection scenarios. Individual control of each signal, pin bounce, and high-speed glitching combine to greatly increase the number of test cases you can perform. ‘Driving’ is available on some sideband pins, allowing a range of additional tests to drive signals high/low rather than just disconnecting them. Lane 0 switching allows the first PCIe lane to be disrupted or disconnected, which allows many data-based tests to be performed without requiring instrumentation of every lane.

External triggering features are enabled by default for Gen6 AIC products, though cables are not supplied.

It is possible to use individual drive modules for simple bench testing. For automated storage enclosures, multiple units can be used.

Each drive module requires one port on a Torridon Controller.
