OCP Power injection fixture
Part Number: QTL3204, QTL3205
Product Details
The OCP Power Injection Fixture allows a power injection and power analysis for OCP devices. This simple interposer sits behind any standard OCP device and allows it to be slotted into an enclosure as normal (though with an offset of the drive).
The ultra-thin flex cable routes out of the enclosure and can be connected to one of our range of Programmable Power Modules. You can now perform power margining and measurement of the drive while using it in its normal operating environment.
This unit is intended for use in testing OCP systems by replacing the host power to the device with power “injected” by a Quarch Programmable Power Module – allowing programmable voltages and accurate current measurement. The Gen6 OCP interface is an x16 edge connector to the host and an x16 straddle mount connector on the opposite edge for the device. An PPM HD connector is used to inject power and interface with PPM.
Power Injection Sync feature
Ensures that the PPM provides power to the device under test in sync with the host power. This allows the device to power up in exactly the same way it would normally.
FETs switch the power rails when the host power is detected. Sync can be disabled via jumper on a per-rail basis to take full control.
Triggering Feature
Generates a 3v3 trigger out signal at a probe point when host power is detected.
This allows connection to external test equipment or a scope. For example, you can trigger back to the PPM so you can start a ramping power pattern at the same time the host turns on.

Features
- Connects an HD Programmable Power Module to an OCP device
- Also compatible with older XLC modules
- Works with almost any standard OCP device
- Supplies and monitors both 12v and 3v3 power
- Power sync to ensure DUT turns on correctly (option)
- Connector for host power trigger
Technical
- Supports devices up to Gen6 speeds and x16 lane width
- 3V3 Aux and 12V isolated from the device and provided by PPM instead.
- PPM sense 3V3 and sense 12V connected near device power pins to improve voltage accuracy.
- Suitable for use with XLC or HD PPM (XLC will be less accurate due to powering the sync circuit)
- 15V from HD PPM / 12V from XLC used to power components on the module used to allow the device to be powered at the same time as the host starts up (power sync option)
- Trigger Out functionality for host power detect (option)
Versions
QTL3204
- Version with no host power sync. Power will always be supplied by the PPM
- This version has a triggering connector for host power detection, so the PPM can optionally sync power with the host (cable required)
QTL3205
- Version with host power sync. Power from the PPM will only be supplied when the host powers up
- This is the basic version and will ensure your device always starts up as they would when directly connected to the host
