FPGA Engineer

Quarch Technology is a world leader in test automation tools for the data storage industry. We are growing rapidly and now require an ambitious and motivated FPGA Engineer to develop innovative new test products.

The Role

We are looking for a talented FPGA Engineer to develop new products, assist with some sustaining and support and ultimately take a key role in the specification, design, and production of our test products. You will ensure that products are delivered on time to a high-quality standard. You will take an active role in the research and development of new products and markets and the development of the product roadmap.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Architecture of FPGA solutions for test of high speed serial protocols
  • HDL Development and Verification
  • Implementation with Xilinx tool chains
  • Troubleshooting

This job is a full-time, permanent position.

Your experience

You must have:

  • A degree in Electronics or similar
  • Good working knowledge of fundamental electronics and FPGA concepts
  • Experience of working with latest generation SERDES FPGAs
  • Excellent English and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on the quality of your work
  • Ability to plan your time to balance multiple deadlines
  • Permission to work in the UK

It would be an advantage if you have:

  • Experience of High-Speed Signal Integrity
  • Understanding of serial data interfaces such as SAS, USB, PCIe, Ethernet.

International Business Development Manager

Quarch Technology is a world leader in test automation tools for the data storage industry. We are growing rapidly and now require an ambitious and motivated Business Development Manager to develop new markets for our innovative new test products.

The Role

We are looking for a talented Business Development Manager to grow our sales in new markets and sectors.

You will manage our growing network of international distributors and focus on building up our sales across China, India and the far east.

Quarch products involve an element of technical sales, so you must have technical experience or a clear willingness to learn the industry.

You will be talking to customers, will be comfortable with technical sales and traveling at least once a quarter, we expect this mainly to be to Asia (China,Japan,Taiwan,Korea) but might include Europe, India, Israel, USA. 

Other languages are not required however familiarity with Asian markets would be an advantage.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing the reseller network
  • Visiting customers and managing trade shows
  • Collating and Producing Marketing Collateral for new products
  • Developing the Quarch Brand internationally
  • Creating and updating content on our website and social media

This job is a full-time, permanent position.

Your experience

You must have:

  • Appropriate qualifications or experience
  • Confidence to deal with technical subject matter
  • Excellent English and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on the quality of your work

Production Technician

Quarch Technology is a world leader in test automation tools for the data storage industry. We are growing rapidly and now require an ambitious and motivated trainee Manufacturing Technician to join our production team.

The Role

This role is hands on and involves the final assembly, testing and shipping of our products. Full training will be provided for all elements of the role. 

As we are a small company, this is a varied and interesting role, with the opportunity to get involved in other areas of the business.

The day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Assembling products using various tools, including arbor press, pillar drill and standard hand tools (training provided)
  • Running automated tests on finished products
  • Maintaining and improving production documentation
  • Administration
  • Packing completed orders
  • Soldering (training to J-Std will be provided)

This job is a full-time, permanent position.

Your experience

You must have:

  • Attention to detail and consideration of the quality of your work
  • Ability to use basic computer software including Microsoft Office
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to changing situations
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Be able to follow processes and instructions
  • Knowledge of standard hand-tools
  • Strong communication skills
  • An interest in electronics/technology
  • Permission to work in the UK

It would be an advantage, but not essential, if you have:

  • Previous soldering experience
  • Previous experience of working within the electronics or manufacturing industries
